Netherlands Primate Park
And Zoo Expedition

NETHERLANDS PRIMATE PARK AND ZOO EXPEDITION

Global Adventure Project’s has chosen the Kingdom of the Netherlands for a short duration and short haul expedition and has managed to pack an amazing amount in.

It features astounding zoo’s and parks, with various specialist areas of study and interest, so no matter what area of animal and conservation you’re interested in, there’s something that can be tailored for you.

You’ll see animals in natural environments; the tropical rainforest, the central American desert, an indoor mangrove swamp. You’ll roam free with the primates in large natural forested areas, you’ll take an African type safari in the recreated Savanah and visit the largest living coral reef in Europe.

ITINERARY

Discover the fantastic itinerary we have prepared, from all three locations, seamlessly served from centrally located accommodation and with all transfers included.

We can also prepare various methods of travelling to the central location, including: overnight ferry with sleeper cabin, coach via the channel tunnel rail link and by air (as below).

Day 1

Afternoon flight from to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Private hire coach transport from AMS airport to Stayokay Hostel in Arnhem, your accommodation for 3 nights. Dinner at the hostel.

Day 2

After breakfast, a private hire coach will take you to Apenheul Primate Park in Apeldoorn. You will spend the day experiencing a forest of free roaming primates. Presentation is provided by one of their subject matter experts, plus a guided tour by a local university lecturer (subject to availability). Packed lunch provided. Dinner at the hostel.

Day 3

After breakfast at the hostel, take a 20-minute walk to the Royal Burgers Zoo in Arnhem. View the manatees in the mangrove and get a close-up view of their remarkable anatomy. Guided tour provided through the entire zoo, with clear learning objectives. Packed lunch provided. Once finished around 5pm, walk back at leisure.

Day 4

After breakfast, check out of accommodation and travel to Rotterdam Zoo, again by private hire coach, taking approximately 1.5 hours. See the striking feature of the giraffe barn in the African savannah and lots more. Packed lunch provided. Depart at the end of the day for AMS airport and return evening flight.

Optional Equine Experience

Depart 09:00 for Dierenkliniek Emmeloord Equine Hospital, arriving 10:15. The day will be spent receiving an in-depth tour of a fully functioning surgical suite, induction room, recovery rooms, intensive care and quarantine units. Following on from this, you'll see the aftercare areas, such as orthopaedic farriery area and the newly built indoor arena. All of this will be given alongside question and answer sessions with EVCS Surgeons and Residents and other specialists in these areas. Packed lunch provided. Dinner at hostel.

Alternative Travel to Location

For larger groups, we recommend travelling by coach. It's often more beneficial; environmentally, economically and for overall experience. The coach will pick the group up at a single point near you. We will arrange travel through the channel tunnel rail link, or - our absolute favourite - an overnight ferry, complete with sleeping cabins, dinner and breakfast.
