Welcome back from your Gap Africa Projects trip and welcome to our individual volunteers page for our Gap Africa provision. We are currently updating our main webpages but as one of our alumni community members, we have given you priority access to our volunteer pages so you can explore what we have available for our alumni participants.
As an alumni traveller, you will be familiar with the project/s visited but please do have a look at our others available as we have all sorts for various tastes. Programme lengths, availability and prices differ greatly so please have a look at the main table below summarising the projects and click on the relevant project tab to download the programme information packs.

We pride ourselves at Gap Africa Projects/Global Adventure Projects on providing an excellent service from enquiry, booking, through to programme enjoyment and completion stages. I am sure as a previous traveller regardless of project, you have experienced this.
The range of programmes and projects we offer are based on participant feedback, project availability, cost and access so we try not to replicate the usual adventure travel format.
We currently have many projects across five of South Africa’s provinces, a turtle project in Cape Verde, Western Africa and an elephant project in Sri Lanka. Our projects are suitable for all and include nature conservation, education and research, general volunteering, sport and community work.
South Africa is a wonderful country with amazing biodiversity and ecology and as such, offers a lot of diversity to your possible adventures. The map below shows where our volunteer providers are located and as you can see, there is so much more left to explore!
Our projects offer a range of activities for all to enjoy regardless of academic, personal or professional level and as such, spend some time looking through, thinking and reading.
To help you decide what you want to experience and achieve from your new adventure, we have summarised the project by traditional academic subject area to help you decide (excluding United Through Sport & Health and Social Care projects which are located throughout many countries and communities):
We currently offer a few sports programmes with our great providers ‘United Through Sport’ (UTS) where participants can take part in various sports programmes across the Eastern Cape (and beyond, for the more adventurous!). We currently offer these programmes to students on sport, community and public services courses, but do get in touch if you are interested in exploring individual programmes as we put you in touch with our colleagues at UTS.
Sports coaching and development on offer includes:

It is difficult to decide what to do next and where to invest your time and energy. There are many companies out there offering amazing experiences but we do hope as a Gap alumni participant, that you value our expertise, efforts to offer exciting and innovative programmes, but also that we care about our participants and their experiences.
Our programmes and project providers are selected on the same ethos and we all hope that together we can bring some amazing opportunities and to be able to share these with our wider community.
